Water and life are closely related. Life without water is unimaginable. Water has an important place in the five elements of the universe. Scientists believe that life came through water. Water is a basic human need. Water is found in abundance in the human body. Biological functions in the body are performed by water. Water maintains body temperature. It also plays an important role in getting rid of useless, toxic elements from the body. Our body have 70% water.

A golden future cannot be imagined without water, water needs to do all the tasks of life. Water is the most valuable resource available on earth, or rather it is the basis of all living things. About three-quarters of the earth is surrounded by water, but 97% of it is not potable, with only 3% potable. 2% of this water is in the form of glaciers and ice. Therefore, in the true sense, only 1% of water is available for human consumption.

Water is a wonderful gift given by nature. Water is the element that brings out the hidden elements in the earth. In the world, water is a substance that is found in all three states, solid, liquid and gas. In the solid state, it is found in glaciers, icebergs, in the liquid state it is found in waterfalls, ponds, rivers, and in the gaseous state as steam. Water has medicinal properties. Adequate water intake reduces mental, physical fatigue, stress.

Chemically, water is a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen (1: 2). Its molecule is H2O. In the structure of water, two hydrogen atoms are joined to oxygen atoms by covalent bonds. The molecular mass of water is 18. Pure water is colorless, odorless. The water has no taste. When the amount of salt in the water increases, the water becomes salty. Water becomes colored due to the presence of colored salts. Due to the smell of some substances, water also smells. Most substances are soluble in water. That is why water is called a great solvent.

Source of water:

There are various sources of water like lakes, rivers, glaciers, waterfalls etc. With so many people living near water, water scarcity can become a serious problem as water misuse increases. The source of water available for human consumption should be well–known. The three main sources of water are surface water, groun dwater and rainwater.

Three main source of water is mentioned below:

1. Surface water

The action of water and water vapor (evaporation) is a natural process that is continuously driven by the sun and gravity, which is called the hydrocephalus (water) cycle. After evaporation of water from the sea and surface land, this water returns to the earth as a drop of water. Rain is the source of all the fresh water on earth. When it rains, the water that falls on the earth flows like a stream and goes to a waterfall, pond or lake. This water is called surface water. The variable exceptional of surface water approach it has to be dealt with to make it secure for home consumption. There are numerous special methods of water treatment at massive and small scale which are described in later look at periods. The quantity of water in rivers and lakes glaringly varies with rainfall and there can be wide fluctuations at one of a kind instances of 12 months. To make certain year-spherical supply, dams can be built to create reservoirs from which water may be extracted prior to treatment.

2. Ground water

Groundwater is an important a part of the water cycle. Groundwater is the part of precipitation that seeps down thru the soil till it reaches rock fabric that is saturated with water. Water in the floor is saved in the areas among rock debris (no, there aren't any underground rivers or lakes). Groundwater slowly moves underground, normally at a downward perspective (because of gravity), and can sooner or later seep into streams, lakes, and oceans.

Ground water acts more consistently than surface water as it flows much more slowly. The actual rate of transmission of ground water depends on the transmission and storage capacity of the aquifer. Sometimes they increase due to rising water levels in water sources and waterfalls. In the water table the renewal time of ground water can be one year or less but in deep land it can be longer than thousands of years.

3. Rainwater

In areas where rainfall is abundant and frequent, water can be an amazing supply to distribute to men or women, households and small communities. Rainwater harvesting is especially necessary in areas with prolonged dry weather, or where groundwater or surface water is hardened or polluted. Rainwater is collected and used later. This method is really suitable for collecting rainwater, or using it in the field, as it flows through hard surfaces and stores it in tanks or wells. Rainwater has many benefits. It is very slow, exceptionally easy and generally reliable, although determined especially in rural areas, rainwater harvesting can be very useful in urban landscapes. If rainwater is used for supply, it is important to ensure that it is not improperly stored or contaminated with birds and leaves. Rainwater can additionally pollute the roof or roof with air, dust, dirt, and other means. Rainwater can be collected in wells, ponds, tankers etc.

Way to save water:

Proper use of water should be done for environmental, public health and economic benefits. With its help, it can improve its quality, maintain balance in the aquatic ecosystem and conserve drinking water resources. If we use water properly and buy materials that use less water, we will not face the problem of drought or famine. This saving not only saves water but also saves money and water bills.

Here are some ways to save water:

  1. Do not leave water open while shaving and brushing teeth. Use a mug for water while shaving or cleaning the beard.
  2. Do not waste cold water from taps and waterfalls while waiting for hot water. Fill it into the flush tank to flush the toilet.
  3. Use a bucket of water instead of a tub.
  4. Turn off the water when applying soap or shampoo.
  5. If you use a tub, turn off the tap before the water falls and fill the tub only halfway; Water can also be saved by bathing children together.
  6. Do not use your toilet as a waste–basket.
  7. Keeping a few things in mind can save a lot of water.
  8. Store drinking water in the fridge.
  9. Wash fruits and vegetables in a basin. Use a brush to wash the vegetables.
  10. Do not use water in frozen food items, rather use it further.
  11. Before cleaning utensils in dish washers, rub them well, not wash them.
  12. Do not use water that contains bleach, automatic dish-washing detergent or a fiber softener for irrigation.
  13. Use the remaining food in the garbage to make compost.
  14. Collect a lot of clothes and wash them in the laundry or wash them according to the capacity of the washing machine.
  15. Buy a high-capacity washing machine that saves 50 percent energy and water.
  16. Get all leakage parts repaired. Leakage in the toilet can waste up to 1000 liters of water per day. Information about these leaks can be obtained by adding colored material to the water portion of your toilet.
  17. Check all leaks in irrigation equipment and get them repaired.
  18. As far as possible, use waste water for irrigation.
  19. Put water in the garden or plant only in the morning. Plants should not be watered while running wind.
  20. Grow small plants under big trees. It prevents evaporation, and gives shade to plants. You can also plant a shed garden under the trees.
  21. In large plants and shrubs with deep roots should not be put water too much at once, put water at considerable time interval. In small plants with less deep root system, continuously add the little amount of water as per their requirement.
  22. Use wastewater only in gardens or plants, should not be used on roads or sidewalks.
  23. To clean outdoor places, road sides and paths with water, clean them with a broom in place of hose pipes.
  24. When cleaning the car, it should be used to fill the bucket with water or use a car wash at commercial level so that the water can be recycleed.
  25. When the tank or hose is to be filled with water, then put an automatic button to control the water flow in it. Do not buy recreational toys that require constant water.
  26. Think about purchasing a water-saving swimming pool filter.
  27. Keep the bathing tank well covered during evaporation when it is not being used.
  28. Do not use or buy decorative water-specific items that cannot be recycled. Show people the sign that water can be recycled.

Rules of drinking water:

Water, a life-saving resource. Life without water Can't even imagine. However, it is said that most of them are ignorant about the method of drinking water. We drink water whenever we can. This is completely wrong. Drinking too much water harms us and drinking too little is harmful. So it is important to be careful when drinking water.
